Prompt #4: Robin Hood Panto
When I say it had no plot I mean that even tho it had some line of story it was going for, it made no ad nothing to do with the original Robin Hood story. They had many scenes that had nothing to do with the story that was happening or at least did not seems connected. Another reason it was funny was that the character Robin Hood did not want to do the one storyline, he was uninterested and would try to avoid it.
In the show they wouldn’t always use the characters' names but the actors' real names. This made us have a more “personal” interaction with them. I thought that was creative that they would bring parts of their real lives here. In one scene Robin Hood talks to two characters and starts talking about how he is happy one of them returemed to do the Panto and welcomed a newcomer. This kind of dialogue also helped knowing how long they have worked together. In that scene he was also “teaching” little John how to act.
The reviews that I have seen are mostly good, even when they add 3 starts they still talk about good things. This was a cultural shock to me when Steve Sykes told us people here are more psessimistictowrds theater because they don’t want the actors to be too famous or think they are too good. I thought that was very interesting, but I could never do that if I think one thing or impone is good I would let them know because I know how hard of a self critic every music or theater artist are towards themselves.
